maryland, here we come!

In a few short hours, we will be on the very long road to Maryland.  We = me, Andy, Midi, Indigo & Bella.  2 humans and 3 dogs (and luggage) strategically placed in the ol’ Honda Element.  I wish there was room for the bikes, but that would be a little over the top.  If I had a bike rack, life would be super duper.  But, that’s not happening anytime soon. I’m really looking forward to a few days with my family and friends!  It’s been quite a while since I’ve been there!!!  Crazy how time flies by.  And, I’m REALLY looking forward to eating some Maryland crabs…yum. What I’m NOT looking forward to is the impending 12 hour overnight drive.  I love driving at night because there is less traffic, but the older I get, the less I like to road trip for that long of a time.  It is always nice having someone to road trip with, especially my favorite person in the world, but it will still be a bugger of a trip!  Oh well, the end will be worth it! So, catch ya on the East side.  I will post some pics from our great mid-Atlantic adventures, I’m sure!

something I am proud to contribute to…

I am one of a few contributors to a new blog…and I have to say, it’s pretty darn funny and inspiring. So, if only a few people read it, I’m fine with that. More power to us!!!!

Introducing, the WHEN blog. Enjoy our humor.

Changes…

I’m making some changes to improve my life…simple things that will hopefully make a difference in how I feel and think. So, starting today, no more EXCUSES. Here are some of the things I’ve got going on:

- eating things that are beneficial to me, not just concentrating on losing weight. I know that once I dig in and focus on being healthy, the weight will begin to work itself out (re: OFF!). Today, I’ve had a yummy blueberry protein shake, nonfat yogurt, mandarin oranges, and a small can of tuna fish. Time to break the bread addiction!!!

- exercising with my body in mind, not some unobtainable fitness goal. I’ve had a lot of problems with my hip lately, so I’m going to do my best to exercise so as not to injure it and potentially help it get better!

- doctor’s appointments! I have insurance, so I’m going to use it! There are several body parts that need to be examined and treated, including my head (no funny jokes, dad) and my hip. So, I finally made some calls and am getting that taken care of this week!

- counseling. I know that we all have issues, things in our head that mess with us on any given day! So, in an effort to really focus on the areas that God is challenging me in and wanting to grow me in, I am going to begin counseling. I have NO idea who I am going to see or what it will entail, but it’s something that I know I need to do. So…if you have any thoughts for a good counselor in the Nashville area, feel free to drop me a line!

Anywho, all that to say…bring on the change! :O)
